Descrizione del lavoro

Redwood Trust, Inc. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for cloud and on‑premises infrastructure, endpoints, and networks in a predominantly Azure environment.

The role emphasizes automation, cost control, and scalable, fault‑tolerant solutions that span development, test, and production. You will own disaster recovery, governance, and vendor relationships, aligning with finance, security, and business stakeholders.

Competenze

  • Bachelor’s degree related to Computer Science, Business, or Information Systems preferred, or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • Ten or more years leading design and support of enterprise-level infrastructure, including at least two years leading a team or acting as a technical lead with delivery accountability.
  • Strong Azure experience across networking, identity, compute, and governance, ideally including a migration or consolidation effort.
  • Expertise in operational stability and uptime, disaster recovery and business continuity, capacity and performance management, and data center migrations.
  • Depth in Windows Server, Active Directory and Entra ID, virtualization, storage, and enterprise networking.
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD, and the judgment to sequence automation work by value.
  • Endpoint management experience with Intune across both Windows and Mac.
  • Experience managing vendors and managed service providers, including holding them to service levels.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks, and experience managing a project or serving as a project team lead.
  • Expert scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Ability to set and change priorities amongst multiple competing constituencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including negotiation with vendors and plain explanation of outages, risk, and cost to non-technical stakeholders.

Mansioni

  • Lead and grow the infrastructure engineering team, including internal staff and contract or nearshore engineers, and set standards for documentation and handoff.
  • Provide design and configuration management leadership across infrastructure domains, delivering solutions that are fault tolerant, cost effective, and scalable.
  • Own the Azure environment, including landing zones, subscription and tenant governance, networking, identity integration, compute, storage, and cost management.
  • Drive the shift to infrastructure as code and pipeline-based delivery using Terraform or Bicep with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions so that environments are reproducible and changes are reviewable.
  • Operate the remaining on-premises and hybrid footprint, including Windows Server, virtualization, storage, and network, and lead decisions on what migrates and what is retired.
  • Own backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity, including regular restore testing and documented recovery objectives agreed with the business.
  • Manage the endpoint program across Windows and macOS through Intune, covering imaging, patching, configuration baselines, and hardware standardization.
  • Oversee monitoring, alerting, capacity, and performance planning, and reduce recurring manual work through automation.
  • Partner with security engineering to implement infrastructure-layer controls, support SOX IT general controls and audit evidence requests, and close vulnerability and patching commitments on schedule.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, renewals, and a portion of the infrastructure budget, and bring forward the cost and risk tradeoffs behind renewal decisions.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and service management discipline across change, incident, and problem management.
  • Establish off-hours and on-call coverage that is sustainable for the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
