Job summary

EY is seeking a senior cloud architect for government and infrastructure engagements in the US. You will own delivery of cloud platform and infrastructure capabilities across multiple initiatives, guiding Azure Government platforms and DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.

You’ll lead architecture reviews, manage risks and dependencies, and grow engineering talent within a fast‑paced, security‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in engineering roles with private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and/or SaaS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) and Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD using tools such as Bicep, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, or Ansible.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, Helm).
• Strong networking fundamentals (VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, load balancing).
• Cloud security principles and identity/access management (Azure RBAC, Entra ID, PIM).
• Windows/Linux administration and scripting with PowerShell; Agile delivery in govt/security contexts.
• Experience with government security frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP).
• Ability to work in Agile environments and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of cloud platform and infrastructure capabilities across multiple initiatives.
• Set and guide technical direction for Azure Government platforms.
• Establish and evolve DevSecOps practices and automation approaches.
• Make informed trade-off decisions balancing speed, quality, security, risk, and health.
• Lead architecture and design reviews aligning with standards and outcomes.
• Oversee risk, dependency, and issue management across delivery efforts.
• Influence stakeholders to align priorities without direct authority.
• Develop engineering talent through coaching and delegation.
• Promote operational excellence by improving processes and tooling.
