Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer in Austin, TX to design and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD across the full software lifecycle. You will implement IaC for Azure resources with Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep and enforce secure practices, SBOMs, SCA, and SAST within pipelines.

You will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams, optimizing deployments, and enabling multi-environment releases while reducing downtime and risks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps engineering roles, with 3+ years working with GitLab CI/CD.
• Proven experience managing Azure cloud resources and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong security practices in CI/CD environments (SCA, SAST, secrets management).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD across full app lifecycle.
• Enforce best practices for source code management, branches, and GitLab runners.
• Collaborate with dev teams to define pipeline requirements for CI, automated tests, and deployments.
• Ensure pipelines support parallel builds, automated rollbacks, and multi-env deployments.
• Implement IaC in Azure using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep to provision resources.
• Integrate SBOMs, SCA, SAST, and container security into pipelines with tooling like Trivy and SonarQube.
• Apply security controls and secret management with Vaults and Azure Key Vault.
• Monitor and optimize pipeline health with Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Provide cross-functional collaboration and incident response for CI/CD incidents.
• Automate routine tasks like environment cleanups and artifact creation.
