Job summary

Programmers.io in Minneapolis, MN seeks an Azure Databricks Engineer to design and deliver scalable Lakehouse solutions on Azure using Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, Spark SQL, ADLS Gen2, ADF and Synapse. You will implement modern data governance practices and optimize data workflows end-to-end.

The role focuses on building robust data architectures, migrating legacy systems, and driving performance through Spark optimizations and secure data access.

Qualifications

• Candidates should show hands-on experience in cloud data architecture and Databricks platform design.
• Experience with performance optimization, migration, data modeling, streaming and security is required.
• Ability to design Lakehouse architecture and govern data across Bronze/Silver/Gold layers.

Responsibilities

• Design Databricks Lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake and Medallion layers.
• Build pipelines with Databricks Workflows, Delta Live Tables, Auto Loader and ADF.
• Collaborate on data lake strategy using ADLS Gen2, Synapse and Spark SQL.
• Optimize Spark workloads including partitioning, sizing, and photon acceleration.
• Lead migrations from SAS/ETL platforms and define governance, security and lineage.
