Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Azure Databricks Administrator to lead administration, governance, security, and optimization of enterprise Azure Databricks environments. Remote in the United States, with a focus on scalable, secure data platforms and collaboration across engineering, security, and operations teams.

The role requires hands-on Azure Databricks experience, Unity Catalog, Azure networking, and strong scripting skills in Python/SQL, plus CI/CD participation using Azure DevOps or GitHub

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years supporting cloud-based data and analytics platforms.
• Hands-on experience administering Azure Databricks in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Azure security.
• Experience with CI/CD, Python, SQL, and cloud governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and administer Azure Databricks workspaces with secure connectivity.
• Configure cluster policies, runtime versions, autoscaling, and workload management.
• Optimize performance and manage Spark configs and Delta Lake best practices.
• Lead Unity Catalog implementation, access controls, and data governance.
• Implement security, identity management, and SSO integrations.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and automate tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide architectural guidance.
