Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Azure Databricks Administrator to oversee administration, governance, security, and operations of enterprise-scale Databricks environments. You will partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure scalable, secure data platforms and efficient CI/CD workflows.

The role emphasizes designing secure networking, Unity Catalog governance, and data integration while supporting remote and national deployment models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years supporting cloud-based data/analytics platforms.
• Hands-on Azure Databricks administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks, ADF, ADLS Gen2, Entra ID, Key Vault, Networking, Monitor/Log Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and administer Azure Databricks workspaces with secure connectivity.
• Configure cluster policies, runtime versions, autoscaling, and workload management.
• Optimize performance via tuning, Spark config, Delta Lake practices.
• Perform capacity planning and resource forecasting for enterprise growth.
• Drive cost optimization including right-sizing and auto-termination policies.
• Troubleshoot platform, cluster, job, and connectivity issues.
