Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Azure Databricks Administrator to join our Cloud, Data & AI practice. This role focuses on the administration, governance, security, optimization, and operations of enterprise-scale Azure Databricks environments.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure networking, security, and data governance, and will partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure data platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
5+ years of experience supporting cloud-based data and analytics platforms.
Hands-on experience administering Azure Databricks in enterprise environments.
Strong experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and ADLS Gen2.
Experience implementing and managing Unity Catalog and RBAC-based governance.

Responsibilities

Azure Databricks administration, optimization, and governance.
Manage Unity Catalog metastores, catalogs, schemas, and access controls.
Implement and manage secure identity provisioning and secret management.
Design secure networking solutions (VNets, private endpoints) and connectivity.
Coordinate CI/CD and automation using Databricks REST APIs and tooling.
Provide architecture guidance and collaborate with engineering, security, and operations.
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standards for platform governance.
Monitor platform health, performance, and cost optimization.
