Job summary

RhythMedix in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking an experienced Azure Database Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain databases on Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server. You will collaborate with software teams to ensure scalable data solutions and improve performance.

Ideal candidates possess 5–8 years of hands-on DBA/DB development experience, strong T-SQL skills, and experience with EF Core and LINQ to Entities. Hybrid work and proximity to headquarters are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on database administration and development experience.
• Strong experience with Azure SQL Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL development and performance tuning.
• Proven experience with database indexing strategies, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.
• Experience with EF Core and LINQ to Entities.
• Solid understanding of ORM concepts and data access optimization techniques.
• Experience troubleshooting and improving application and database performance in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize databases hosted on Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Analyze and improve database performance through index optimization, execution plan analysis, and query tuning.
• Monitor database health, capacity, availability, and security.
• Collaborate with software development teams to optimize data access patterns and application performance.
• Review and improve EF Core data access code, LINQ-to-Entities queries, and ORM implementations.
• Participate in database design, schema changes, migrations, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to data access, performance, and scalability.
• Implement and maintain data archival, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Support cloud-based data solutions and contribute to data platform modernization initiatives.
