Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT with a focus on infrastructure and databases.
• Seven to ten years of hands-on Azure administration including resource governance, identity management, and networking configuration.
• Advanced MS SQL Server administration covering installation, configuration, performance tuning, and high availability.
• Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and disaster readiness for Azure resources and SQL Server databases.
• Practical knowledge of monitoring tools for cloud and database platforms with ability to interpret metrics and implement improvements.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting for administration tasks using enterprise tools and frameworks.
• Experience working in hybrid work models and distributed teams with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exposure to compliance and security standards and governance practices for cloud and database operations.
• Commitment to continuous learning by staying current with Azure and SQL Server capabilities and applying them responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Manage Azure resource groups, subscriptions, and policies for secure, scalable cloud environments.
• Administer Azure virtual networks, subnets, and connectivity components for resilient hybrid workloads.
• Monitor Azure services and infrastructure health to detect issues and minimize disruptions.
• Rightsize Azure capacity by reviewing utilization trends to reduce costs.
• Implement Azure backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data.
• Configure databases, security, and maintenance plans for MS SQL Server instances.
• Perform routine database health checks, index tuning, and query optimization.
• Manage database security through logins, roles, and permissions.
• Coordinate and execute database patching and upgrades with minimal impact.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and knowledge docs for consistent operations.
• Collaborate with application/infrastructure teams to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver timely solutions.
• Participate in incident/problem management to analyze root causes and reduce recurring failures.
• Support automation of routine tasks with scripting tools to increase efficiency.
