Job summary

State of Minnesota MNIT seeks an experienced Azure Database Engineer to design, implement, and support Azure databases, Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouse solutions. You will consolidate data from 87 county databases into a centralized Azure environment and mentor other Database Engineers.

This contract role offers remote or hybrid work options in Minnesota, with standard weekday hours and a start aligned to the DCYF project schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and implementing Azure Data Lakes and databases.
• Strong experience with Azure Databricks and Oracle databases.
• Experience building data transformation pipelines and cloud integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Azure relational and non-relational databases.
• Develop and support Azure Data Lakes and Data Lakehouse solutions.
• Build and optimize data transformation processes.
• Implement secure, scalable, high-performance cloud data solutions.
• Configure backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Implement RBAC, encryption, and security best practices.
• Optimize data access patterns and database performance.
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure data solutions.
