Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Azure Database Engineer to support a Minnesota public-sector client on a high-impact child welfare modernization initiative. The role focuses on consolidating data from 87 county databases into a centralized Azure-based data lake for a future enterprise solution.

Qualifications

• Experience with Azure database engineering, administration, maintenance, and security.
• Experience with Azure Data Lakes or Data Lakehouse platforms and centralized data storage.
• Proficiency in database analysis, design, development, and implementation.
• Knowledge of data integration, workflow optimization, data integrity, and security practices.
• Ability to work with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Experience mentoring other database engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, administer, and maintain Azure database and data lake solutions.
• Support development of a centralized Data Lakehouse and integrated data reserves.
• Consolidate data from 87 county databases for use in a centralized platform.
• Implement and maintain data security, governance, availability, and reliability in Azure.
• Analyze and optimize data workflows to improve performance and usability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other Database Engineers.
• Possibly provide ongoing operational support after implementation.
