Job summary

i4DM in Maryland is seeking an experienced Azure Data Integration Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using ADF, Synapse, and Databricks. You will ingest, curate, and transform data to produce trusted enterprise data products for analytics and decision making.

As part of an Agile team, you will ensure data governance, RBAC, and security, and collaborate with analysts, product teams, and cloud engineers to optimize performance and enable AI/ML use cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of practical experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Expertise with ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks, DAX, Power Query (M) and data modeling.
• Strong SQL skills (T-SQL) and performance tuning.
• Experience with Spark, Python or Scala.
• Power BI integration with Azure data services.
• Knowledge of RBAC, Azure AD, and security best practices.
• CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
• Awareness of data governance tools and metadata management.
• Agile/Scrum/SAFe experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Develop ETL processes for Azure Data Lake, SQL, and Synapse.
• Ingest from APIs, databases, and IoT streams.
• Build data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouses with Azure tools.
• Ensure secure, governed data access and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with BI developers and cloud engineers.
• Monitor pipeline performance and optimize queries.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and document architecture decisions.
