Job summary

Stratford Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced AZURE DATA ENGINEER in New York, NY for a 10-month contract.

The role focuses on architecting and delivering enterprise-scale data warehouse solutions using SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Cosmos DB, and Power BI. You will work with Cognos and Microsoft Power Platform, coordinating with multiple units to implement data processes, testing, deployment, and on-call support.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting large data warehouse systems at enterprise scale.
• End-to-end data warehouse and analytics using SQL Server, Analysis Services, Power BI.
• Azure data platform development including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Storage, Pipelines.
• Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, SQL, Data Lake, App Service.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and IaC (Infrastructure as code).
• Experience with NoSQL solutions using Azure Cosmos DB.
• Familiar with Kimball and Inmon data warehouse modeling.
• Proficient in Python and PowerShell scripting.
• Security model development experience.
• Certifications in related technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• New development: design and implement data solutions aligned with PA requirements and deploy to production following change management.
• Systems Testing and Deployment: coordinate UAT and sign-off, validate against production deployment standards.
• Systems Support: maintain platform stability, resolve data issues, and provide on-call support as needed.
• Environment Support: maintain Cognos environments, apply patches and upgrades.
• System administration: manage Cognos components, user accounts, and security profiles.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Management: log, track, and resolve system problems and ensure data integrity.
• Disaster Recovery: define scope for DR tests and coordinate tasks with stakeholders.
• Documentation and Training: produce operation documentation and train users on new functionality.
