Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
• 2+ years building on Microsoft Azure stack
• Strong SQL with complex joins, window functions, and performance tuning
• Experience using Azure Data Factory for pipeline design, triggers, and error handling
• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, or Azure SQL
• Proficiency in Python or PySpark for data transformation
• Experience with data modeling and warehouse design (dimensional modeling)
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and data organization
• Version control and deployment discipline using Git and Azure DevOps
• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders; Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support cloud data solutions on the Microsoft Azure stack for client engagements
• Build and orchestrate data pipelines in Azure Data Factory
• Develop transformation logic in SQL, Python, or PySpark and optimize for growing data volumes
• Design and maintain data models (dimensional/relational/lakehouse) for analysts and reports
• Work with Azure Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 to meet client scale and budget
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and reconciliation processes
• Set up monitoring, alerts, and error handling; manage CI/CD with Git and Azure DevOps
• Collaborate with client analysts and leads to translate business questions into data requirements
• Document architecture, data lineage, and runbooks for post-handoff support
• Adhere to client security, privacy, and compliance requirements
