Job summary

Harris Associates L.P. in Chicago is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to build and secure our Azure estate. You will deploy IaC with Terraform, manage identities with Entra ID, and collaborate with DevOps and data teams to keep systems resilient.

You will own patch cycles, on-call rotations, and the design of network topologies, VMs, AKS, and data-platform governance. A security-first mindset and strong written communication are essential to thrive in our regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering experience with Azure as a core platform.
• Strong IaC skills with Terraform including state management and safe importing.
• Solid grounding in identity/access fundamentals: RBAC and least-privilege design.
• Cloud networking expertise: hub-and-spoke, firewalls, DNS.
• CI/CD with Azure DevOps; scripting in PowerShell and/or Bash.
• Security-first mindset, comfortable in change-control environments.
• Clear written communication for documenting decisions and processes.

Responsibilities

• AI-enabled tooling: build and manage AI/LLM-based workflows with security review.
• Patching and on-call: participate in monthly patch cycles and weekly on-call rotations.
• Infrastructure as code: author and maintain Terraform across multiple repos/environments.
• Identity and access management: govern Entra ID roles and least-privilege grants.
• Cloud networking: design hub-and-spoke topology, policies, and troubleshooting.
• VMs and images: provision hardened Azure VMs and golden images with Packer.
• Kubernetes and containers: support AKS, workload identity, service mesh, connectivity.
• Data platform governance: manage access to Databricks, Snowflake, and Power BI Fabric.
• Monitoring and incident response: Azure Monitor and root-cause investigations.
• CI/CD, review, and automation: gate Terraform changes and improve automation.
