Job summary

Bayforce is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive a cloud modernization initiative, migrating an on‑prem OpenShift environment to Microsoft Azure. You will leverage Azure, Terraform, CI/CD, and Kubernetes to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.

You will contribute to designing Azure architecture, maintain IaC, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure production readiness and automation improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Role Description:

• We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a next-generation cloud modernization initiative. This project is focused on migrating an existing application from an on-premises OpenShift environment to Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• The ideal candidate will have strong, hands‑on Azure Cloud experience along with expertise in Terraform, CI/CD, and Kubernetes. This individual should also be familiar with Java and React and able to understand the application codebase and work effectively with development teams throughout the migration.
• Experience with .NET/C#, Angular, and Helm charts is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Support the end‑to‑end modernization and migration of an enterprise application from on‑premises OpenShift to Microsoft Azure Cloud.

Design, build, and implement secure, scalable Azure‑based application and infrastructure solutions.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

Build, enhance, and support CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployments.

Deploy, configure, and support containerized applications using Kubernetes in Azure.

Partner with application development, cloud, infrastructure, security, and operations teams throughout the migration lifecycle.

Understand existing Java and React applications and their architecture, dependencies, integrations, and deployment requirements.

Evaluate current‑state OpenShift configurations and help design the future‑state Azure architecture and deployment model.

Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, deployment, and integration issues throughout the cloud migration.

Develop technical specifications, architecture documentation, implementation plans, and deployment procedures.

Participate in testing, debugging, performance optimization, and production‑readiness activities.

Identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers as needed.

Follow enterprise development, security, risk, and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

1. Azure Cloud – Must have strong hands‑on Azure experience, ideally involving enterprise application modernization or migration.

2. Terraform / CI/CD / Kubernetes – Must be comfortable building and automating cloud infrastructure and application deployments.

3. Application Development Understanding – Must be familiar with Java and React and capable of understanding the application layer, not solely infrastructure.
