Revolutional is seeking an Azure Cloud Architect in Washington, DC to modernize a federal customer’s infrastructure with Azure Government expertise. Lead design, migration, and operations for mission-critical workloads, with a TS clearance and valid SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities include architecting secure Azure GOV environments, implementing IAM, IaC, and monitoring solutions, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; US citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years IT/technical experience.
• 5+ years hands-on Azure architecture/engineering experience.
• Current Azure Associate-level certification (e.g., Administrator or Solutions Architect).

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for Azure Government cloud architecture, including migrations to GCC High or Azure Government Secret.
• Design secure, scalable Azure infra aligned with FedRAMP/NIST RMF; support ATO activities.
• Architect identity management using Microsoft Entra ID, CA, PIM and federation.
• Develop and maintain IaC using ARM/Bicep/Terraform; optimize with Azure Monitor and Defender for Cloud.
• Lead security controls and technical guidance; collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Produce architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Position Description

We have a fantastic full time opportunity for a an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to modernize a federal government customer’s infrastructure in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will serve as the technical authority on Microsoft Azure Government cloud architecture, leading design, migration, and operational support for mission-critical workloads.

What You’ll Do

As an Azure Cloud Architect you will:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for Azure Government cloud architecture, design, and implementation, including leading migration of on-premises and legacy systems to Azure Government (GCC High and/or Azure Government Secret, per program accreditation).
• Design and implement secure, scalable, highly available Azure infrastructure aligned with federal cloud security requirements (FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, RMF), and support Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities with ISSOs/ISSMs and the Authorizing Official’s team.
• Architect identity and access management solutions using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, and federation with on-premises identity systems.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform); monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Sentinel, and Defender for Cloud.
• Support the program’s priority mission initiatives, including implementing an ETL solution with large data consumption across dispersed sources.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to program engineers, and collaborate with government stakeholders, program management, and cross-functional technical teams to translate mission requirements into cloud architecture solutions.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

What You Bring (Requirements):

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility. Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8 years of overall IT/technical experience
• 5 years of hands‑on experience architecting and engineering Microsoft Azure environments.
• Current Microsoft Azure certification, at minimum Associate level (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Associate).

Nice to Have (Differentiators):

• Extensive hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure Government cloud environments (GCC High and/or Azure Government Secret/DoD‑aligned), including familiarity with applicable compliance boundaries.
• Working knowledge of federal cloud security and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, RMF, DoD Impact Level categorization) and experience supporting or contributing to Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages.
• Deep, hands‑on expertise in Azure networking (VNets, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Private Link, VPN Gateway, Virtual WAN), compute, storage, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Security Engineer Associate certification, in addition to the required Associate‑level certification.
• Prior experience supporting federal civilian agency or Intelligence Community customers.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines in a government cloud context; familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, and Purview in a high‑side or classified environment.
• Familiarity with AWS (e.g., AWS GovCloud) to support the program’s long‑term multi‑cloud strategy.
• Current SCI indoctrination or prior SCI access is a plus but not required at time of application.
