Job summary

Spectrum is seeking an experienced AVD Architect to lead Azure and EUC strategy for enterprise environments. You will partner with executive stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable, secure AVD and Azure solutions, spanning identity, networking, compute, storage, and security.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree with 8+ years of experience, MS degree with 6 years, PhD with 3 years, or 12 years without a degree.
4+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience.
3+ years of hands-on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) / Windows Virtual Desktop in enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale AVD environments.
Experience migrating users and applications from traditional EUC/VDI to AVD (Citrix, Horizon, RDS, etc).
Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Compute, Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Storage, FSLogix, Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory.
Experience with AVD scaling, capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost optimization (host pools, session host architectures, application groups, workspaces, profiles, image management).
Strong understanding of identity and access architectures (AD, Entra ID, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, hybrid identity).
Strong understanding of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, DNS, routing, VPN, ExpressRoute, private connectivity).
Intermediate-level IaC experience (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM).
Experience implementing automation and repeatable deployment patterns for Azure/AVD.
Creating detailed architecture diagrams, technical documentation, implementation plans, customer-facing deliverables.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-140) or equivalent

Responsibilities

Lead collaboration with senior and C-level stakeholders to define Azure, AVD, and EUC strategies aligned to business/tech objectives.
Translate business/technical requirements into scalable, secure AVD architectures.
Lead discovery/architecture sessions to understand business drivers, user requirements, app dependencies, and constraints.
Define enterprise AVD architecture, standards, reference designs, and roadmaps across infrastructure, networking, identity, security, apps, and operations.
Develop TCO models, capacity assessments, optimization strategies, and technology recommendations for AVD/Azure investment decisions.
Provide technical leadership across architecture lifecycle from strategy to implementation and optimization.
Partner with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and Cloud Ops to shape solutions and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Develop executive-ready architecture recommendations, roadmaps, solution designs, and technical documentation.
Serve as senior technical advisor/mentor to architects and engineering teams; promote best practices in AVD/Azure capabilities.
