Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure AI Solutions Architect/Engineer to lead enterprise Generative AI initiatives in a federal environment. This remote role focuses on AI-assisted document intelligence, RAG, and secure integration with existing systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field; 12+ years of experience.
• Experience with secure, scalable enterprise AI deployments with federal context.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and implementation of enterprise Generative AI solutions using the Microsoft Azure AI ecosystem.
• Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI/model services, Azure AI Search, Azure AI Document Intelligence.
• Architect and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) over enterprise data.
• Develop AI-assisted enterprise search to identify relevant documents across large repositories.
• Develop NLP QA, document summarization, information extraction, structured output, and AI research capabilities.
• Design semantic, vector, hybrid, and agentic retrieval approaches for business needs.
• Develop secure integration patterns between Azure AI services and existing apps, APIs, databases, and repositories.
• Integrate AI functionality into applications via REST APIs, SDKs, Java services, and more.
• Evaluate Azure AI Document Intelligence for classification, extraction, scoring, and exception handling.
• Design AI agents and orchestration using Foundry capabilities.
• Collaborate with IBM FileNet and IBM DataCap teams to leverage existing platforms.
• Preserve authorization controls and secure data access for AI outputs.
• Implement identity, secrets, networking, logging, monitoring, and security controls.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks for retrieval accuracy, extraction accuracy, grounding, latency, and outcomes.
• Develop POCs/MVPs and transition to production.
• Translate business processes into actionable AI solutions with stakeholders.
• Evaluate alternative AI technologies and provide technical recommendations.
• Create reusable architecture patterns, standards, and docs.
• Mentor architects and developers on Azure AI, RAG, prompt engineering, and responsible AI.
• Provide hands-on knowledge transfer for ongoing maintenance.
