Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a skilled Axle Maintenance Team Member in Detroit, MI to install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair production machinery. The role requires reading blueprints, performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, and coordinating with engineers and service technicians.

The position offers extensive benefits and supports career growth within the DTNA family. Candidates should bring a GED or high school diploma and a journeyperson credential or equivalent

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with electrical or mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Experience with planned maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Experience with machining and tool setup.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair production machinery.
• Perform service, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Assist engineers and service technicians as needed.
• Carry out welding, pipefitting and rigging as required.
• Maintain safety and lock-out procedures during maintenance.

Inside the Role

Axle Maintenance Team Members are responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing production machinery

Posting Information

This position offers:

$36.73/hr

Shift Premiums: Afternoon and Midnight shifts receive a 7.5% premium.

Paid Holidays: Average of 16 per year.

Benefits Include:

Profit Sharing: Eligibility for annual company profit sharing.

C.O.L.A.(Cost Of Living Adjustment): Currently $1.13/hr increase and recalclated quarterly.

401(k) Company Match: Company match of 75% on a maximum of 8% contribution. New hires will be automatically enrolled at 6%.

401(k) Defined Contribution: Company contribution currently $2.15/hr.

Vacation: 40–200 hours based on years of service (1 year to 20+ years).

Paid Absence Allowance (PAA): 56 hours per year; unused days earn $130/day bonus

Bereavement: Paid benefits provided.

Tuition Assistance: Programs available for eligible employees.

Knowledge You Should Bring

• GED or High School Diploma is required
• Certified Journeyperson card holder or ability to document 8 years of experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to work with Engineers and Service Technicians on a regular basis
• Experience with electrical and/or mechanical maintenance and repair
• Experience performing planned maintenance of industrial equipment
• Experience with machining processes, including tool change and setup
• Experience with PLC and/or CNC controlled equipment
• Knowledge of gauge methods
• Experience making manual corrections to a CNC controlled machining process
• Basic knowledge of computer
• Knowledge of lock-out procedures
