Job summary

Talan is seeking an Axiom Business Analyst for NYC, hybrid schedule, to own FR 2052a and FR Y-15 reporting efforts at a major bank.

You will run GAP analyses, translate complex Fed language into BRDs and FRDs, collaborate with Finance teams, and steer data provisioning from source systems to the Axiom ODS and consolidated model.

Advanced AxiomSL hands-on experience and strong SQL/PowerBI skills are essential, with leadership to push initiatives to completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years as a Business Analyst in a CIB.
• Hands-on time in AxiomSL (ControllerView).
• At least one full lifecycle implementation of FR 2052a or FR Y-15 at a major bank.
• Solid grounding in financial products.
• Comfortable in PowerBI and SQL, and used to working with large, messy data sets.
• Strong communicator and natural leader.

Responsibilities

• Run a full GAP analysis on data setup against FR 2052a/FR Y-15 requirements, identifying missing fields, granularity gaps, or data quality issues.
• Collaborate with Finance business teams to understand products and reporting needs.
• Tell data architects and upstream teams exactly which data to fetch (transactions, counterparty, collateral, or balance sheet data).
• Translate Fed regulatory language into BRDs and FRDs that teams can act on.
• Map data flows from source systems into the Axiom ODS and consolidated data model.

Job description

Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week) Visa Sponsorship: Talan does not sponsor U.S. work permits or employment visas.

We're looking for an Axiom Business Analyst who knows AxiomSL (ControllerView) inside out and has actually shipped FR 2052a or FR Y-15 reporting at a major bank before, not just read about it.

Responsibilities

• Run a full GAP analysis on our data setup against what FR 2052a and FR Y-15 actually require, pinpointing where fields are missing, granularity falls short, or quality breaks down
• Sit with Finance business teams to really understand our products, then connect the dots to what the reports need
• Tell data architects and upstream teams exactly which data to go get, whether that’s transactional, counterparty, collateral, or balance sheet data
• Turn dense Fed regulatory language into BRDs and FRDs that people can actually work from
• Map data step by step from source systems into the Axiom ODS and consolidated data model

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, Accounting, or similar
• 10+ years as a Business Analyst in a CIB
• Real hands-on time in AxiomSL (ControllerView)
• At least one full lifecycle implementation of FR 2052a or FR Y-15 at a major bank, this is a must
• Solid grounding in financial products
• Comfortable in PowerBI and SQL, and used to working with large, messy data sets
• Strong communicator and natural leader, someone who can push a topic to the finish line
