AWS Technical Consultant

Due to continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for an AWS Technical Consultant to join our Cloud Solutions team. Our Technical Consultants provide post-sales technical consultancy, undertake delivery and implementation engagements, and offer pre-sales qualification and design consultancy.

As an AWS Technical Consultant, you will have experience in a technical consulting role, with a strong understanding of delivering AWS-centric solutions.

Location: Home Based with some travel across the UK

What you can expect to be doing as the AWS Technical Consultant

Solution Pre-Sales and Scoping

• Lead qualification of designs and opportunities
• Lead and present at customer opportunities and workshop sessions
• Understand client requirements, collect data, deliver analysis, and resolve problems
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend options, implementing solutions when required
• Collaborate with stakeholders as part of consultancy agreements
• Address client needs to enhance capabilities and ensure solutions are understood and exploited
• Lead and contribute to Statements of Work

Service Delivery

• Manage consultancy assignments or work on projects analyzing customer requirements and recommending solutions
• Design and implement solutions, managing technical aspects, especially for high-risk or large-scale projects
• Ensure quality and consistency in consultancy assignments
• Highlight technical risks to minimize commercial exposure
• Produce and maintain assignment documentation
• Ensure smooth handover to support teams
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers

Skills and Experience Needed

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Deep knowledge of relevant subject matter
• Flexible approach and willingness to exceed customer expectations
• Ability to handle complex problems beyond own expertise

• Willingness and ability to travel (Full Driving Licence required)
• Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Knowledge of Cloud Architecture (Public/Private)
• Software design skills
• Security architecture or engineering experience
• Experience with Infrastructure or Application Migrations
• Platform or Systems Engineering/Administration
• Operations in hybrid cloud environments
• Big Data or Data Analytics experience
