Job summary

UNIVERSAL Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to lead architecture design and implementation of secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions. This hybrid/onsite role is based in Albany, NY and requires strong collaboration with stakeholders, technical teams and vendors.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of related experience, extensive enterprise AWS exposure, and AWS certification; leadership and security expertise are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing production AWS solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS compute, storage, networking, security, serverless, integration, data monitoring and governance services.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of secure, scalable, reliable AWS-based applications and data platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into AWS architectures.
• Review designs by vendors and system integrators to ensure alignment with standards.
• Provide technical leadership to AWS data engineering and DevOps resources; run design reviews.

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect for a 50 hybrid role 100 onsite candidates preferably in Albany NY to lead the architecture design and implementation of secure scalable and reliable AWS cloud solutions Active LinkedIn preferred The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with enterprise AWS environments cloud integrations infrastructure automation security and technical leadership This role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders technical teams and vendors to deliver effective cloud solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and operational standards

Work Schedule

MANDATORY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing production AWS solutions in complex enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of AWS compute storage networking security serverless integration data monitoring and governance services
• Experience designing secure REST or GraphQL APIs event driven architectures and integrations using authentication and authorization standards such as OAuth 20 and JSON Web Tokens JWT
• Experience with AWS Identity and Access Management IAM Virtual Private Cloud VPC design encryption secrets management logging monitoring and multi account governance
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code IaC and automated delivery using tools such as AWS CloudFormation Terraform AWS Cloud Development Kit CDK and CICD pipelines
• Strong understanding of availability resiliency disaster recovery performance observability security and cloud cost management practices
• Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams and technical specifications and communicate effectively with executive business and technical stakeholders
• Experience leading technical teams and reviewing work performed by vendors subcontractors or system integrators
• AWS Solutions Architect certification is strongly preferred; professional level certification is a significant plus
• Experience establishing enterprise AWS landing zones multi account environments governance controls and reusable platform patterns
• Experience integrating enterprise Software as a Service SaaS Electronic Health Record EHR data warehouse lakehouse or analytics platforms
• Experience supporting public sector healthcare Medicaid or other regulated environments including sensitive or protected data
• Experience developing production backend services is a plus
• Additional AWS security networking DevOps or data focused certifications are a plus

SCOPE OF SERVICES

Lead the architecture and technical design of secure scalable reliable and supportable AWS based applications integrations data platforms reporting solutions and cloud workloadsCollaborate with business analysts stakeholders and technical teams to translate approved business and technical requirements into detailed AWS architectures and implementation specificationsDesign API based event driven scheduled and other integration patterns among AWS services enterprise systems SaaS platforms vendor solutions and authorized data sourcesDefine service selection data flows network and account topology identity and access models encryption logging monitoring resiliency backup disaster recovery and cost control approachesDevelop reusable reference architectures integration patterns technical standards templates and implementation guidance for current and future AWS initiativesProvide technical leadership and direction to AWS data engineering and DevOpsCloudOps resources conduct design reviews resolve technical blockers and coordinate cross team dependenciesReview AWS related designs and implementation work performed by vendors and system integrators to promote alignment with enterprise architecture security governance and operational standardsSupport proofs of concept solution build testing deployment troubleshooting performance optimization and transition to operationsApply AWS Well Architected principles across operational excellence security reliability performance efficiency cost optimization and sustainabilityDevelop and maintain architecture diagrams technical specifications decision records interface documentation runbooks operational procedures and knowledge transfer materials
