Job summary

Aqua IT seeks a senior AWS Solutions Architect to accelerate a petabyte-scale data lake project. You will scale Aurora PostgreSQL, normalize schemas, and onboard tens of schemas, ensuring performance and reliability.

On-site in Gaithersburg, MD with occasional travel to Springfield, VA or Herndon, VA. Must hold TS/SCI clearance and experience with DoD/IC RMF, PII-High data, and mentoring junior CI/CD teams.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required for DoD/IC work.
• Hands-on Aurora PostgreSQL experience: scaling and data normalization.
• Experience onboarding petabyte-scale data lakes with multiple schemas.
• Familiarity with RMF and PII-High security controls.

Responsibilities

• Scale Aurora PostgreSQL and normalize data for a petabyte-scale data lake.
• Onboard dozens to hundreds of schemas and ensure performance.
• Assist with security controls management to pursue ATO for PII-High.
• Coach and uplift a junior CI/CD team on modern processes.
• Extend container experience from EKS to ECS/Fargate.
• Provide ProServe support with direct Slack access to AWS dev team and escalation channels.

Job description

• Manage Aurora PostgreSQL scaling and data normalization as the customer builds a petabyte-scale data lake, onboarding tens of disparate schemas today, trending toward hundreds or thousands
• Assist with security controls management as the team pursues ATO for PII-High plus additional clearance/\"tickets\"-type data, supporting the overextended Leidos security lead
• Coach a newly staffed, junior CI/CD team on modern Orange processes and the \"build low, deliver high\" approach
• Help the team extend container experience from EKS into ECS/Fargate
• Provide embedded ProServe support: direct Slack access to the AWS dev team and escalation through ProServe channels to TAMs as needed

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• All-inclusive AWS Solutions Architect profile (generalist, not a specialist)
• Hands-on Aurora / PostgreSQL experience: scaling, schema and data normalization, data-lake onboarding
• Container experience: Docker, EKS, and ECS/Fargate
• CI/CD pipeline experience with the ability to mentor a junior team
• Familiarity with security controls management and ATO processes in a DoD/IC environment (RMF, PII-High)
• On-site availability in Gaithersburg, MD with occasional travel to Springfield, VA or Herndon, VA

Preferred Qualifications

• Deeper PostgreSQL and Aurora expertise (called out as a \"huge benefit\")
• Currently IC badged
• Experience supporting ATO for PII-High and controlled/\"tickets\"-type data
