Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking a Software Development Engineer for HawkEye to build and manage services that detect and mitigate cyber threats across AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate with data scientists and security engineers to create scalable, low-latency solutions and to improve system observability and automation.

We value flexible work arrangements and a strong security mindset, with on-call responsibilities typically scheduled every two months.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader and role-model for Amazon LPs.
• Design scalable architectures for low-latency data processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and security engineers to build automated security detections and mitigation workflows.
• Improve the observability, performance, and efficiency of our current systems.
• Raise the bar for testing, repeatability, and automation.
• Mentor less experienced engineers on mental models, decision making, technical skills, and leadership principles.
