The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS core services, infrastructure automation, cloud security, and platform optimization. This role is key to driving cloud modernization, infrastructure reliability, and automation within our DevOps ecosystem.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Platform Engineer with 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering with AWS. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS core services, infrastructure automation, cloud security, and platform optimization. This role is key to driving cloud modernization, infrastructure reliability, and automation within our DevOps ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and manage secure, scalable, and high-availability AWS infrastructure using best practices.

Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and CDK.

Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Python, Bash, and configuration management tools.

Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like CodePipeline, Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket.

Enable containerized deployments with Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.

Maintain strong visibility into systems through CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other observability tools.

Drive and maintain cloud security using IAM, KMS, Cognito, API Gateway, NACL, Security Groups, etc.

Participate in platform transformation initiatives and support AI/ML tool integrations (e.g., Kendra, SageMaker).

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure delivery of robust cloud-native solutions and guide junior engineers.

Ensure compliance, governance, and cost optimization within AWS environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years of total IT experience, with 5+ years in AWS cloud platform engineering

Strong expertise in AWS core services: EC2, VPC, S3, Glacier, EFS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Data Pipeline, Directory Services, Kinesis, Elastic Beanstalk, and more

GEN AI - Kendra, Sage Maker

Proven experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform and CloudFormation

Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash

Linux systems administration and IAM configuration

Deep knowledge of cloud security tools and practices

Exposure to Cloudera and distributed data platforms is a plus

Hands-on with CI/CD tools, Git workflows, and DevOps practices

Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and monitoring strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)

Experience with AI/ML services such as Amazon Kendra, SageMaker, or Bedrock

Background in cloud cost optimization / FinOps

Experience mentoring and supporting junior engineers

Knowledge of OpsWorks, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and other AWS DevOps tools
