Job summary

Percona is seeking a Practice Lead for AWS to guide customers in deploying open-source databases on AWS and related ecosystem services (EKS, Aurora, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK). The role focuses on deep AWS expertise with strategic guidance across infrastructure impacting database performance, cost, and reliability.

The Lead will shape partnerships with AWS, advise on migrations, and drive revenue while maintaining a strong customer-first approach across global, remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Act in the best interest of the customer. Champion Percona’s expertise and, where it fits, Percona software and services, but the customer’s outcome always comes first.
• Help existing AWS-based customers maximize value through performance tuning, cost optimization, and adoption of additional AWS or Percona services.
• Advise internal Percona teams to improve software and services for customers on AWS; collaborate with the Cloud Partnership team on co-sell motions and joint go-to-market.
• Drive revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction for the AWS Practice; contribute to Percona subscriptions and partnership revenue.
• Build Percona’s presence in AWS and open source database spaces via content, networking, and talks at industry conferences and AWS events.
• Architect professional services offerings (migration assessments, cost optimization reviews, architecture audits) for high market impact.
• Serve as a "Super Expert" Solutions Architect during pre-sales cycles and enable Marketing and Sales teams to win AWS-related deals.
• Hire and mentor a dedicated team to expand the AWS Practice.
