Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, automate, secure, and operate AWS environments supporting mission-critical workloads. This hands-on role collaborates across cloud engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and application development teams to modernize systems and deliver reliable cloud services.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in cloud/DevOps, with hands-on AWS, IaC (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation), and strong scripting and containerization skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating AWS environments for production workloads.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation.
• Programming/scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, Go, JS).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub Actions) and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
• U.S. citizenship is required for government-related work.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, maintain, and operate AWS cloud environments.
• Assess apps/infrastructure and recommend migration/modernization approaches (rehosting, replatforming, containerization).
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules and deployment patterns.
• Develop automation for build, test, security scanning, deployment, and rollback processes.
• Design and support containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS container services.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and system owners on control implementation and compliance.
