Job summary

Securian Financial Group is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure for data and analytics workloads. The role requires hands-on AWS and IaC experience, collaboration with data teams, and strong security practices.

The position emphasizes ownership of infrastructure components, automation, and cross-team partnership to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

2-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS.
Experience with RDS Postgres, S3; proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
Experience with AWS data/analytics services (Glue, Redshift) and DevOps tooling (Git, CI/CD, Docker).
Basic scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell; understanding of cloud networking, security, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

Champion the selection of Data and Analytics platforms and tools across the enterprise.
Engage with users/vendors to validate POCs and new solutions.
Onboard new platforms/tools to drive adoption across the organization.
Collaborate with Data Engineering/DS teams to close tooling gaps and implement solutions.
Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
Configure core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, VPC).
Support data pipelines by provisioning and optimizing cloud resources.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with CloudWatch; participate in CI/CD deployments.
Ensure infrastructure security via IAM, encryption, and network configurations.
