Job summary

PTR Global is seeking an AWS Data Engineer for a contract role with flexibility across McLean, VA, Plano, TX, and other major cities. The focus is a Python-based, AWS-native data ingestion platform handling financial data, with CDK, Glue/Spark, Lambda/ECS/Flink pipelines.

Strong Python and AWS expertise, plus security compliance, are required. The role involves building ingestion pipelines, testing components, and ensuring platform reliability while adhering to data-protection standards.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, Kinesis, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, CDK).
• Solid understanding of Git and CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with data ingestion platforms and financial data processing is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipeline stages across ingestion, validation, tokenization, reformatting, and publishing.
• Develop and execute unit and end-to-end testing for pipeline components.
• Support end-to-end/system test phases to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with data-protection standards and security practices.
