Job summary

AEITS, a GTSC company, seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Systems Security Engineer to join our on-site team in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will lead security engineering across AWS infrastructure, SOC operations, and incident response, ensuring compliance with Top Secret SCI clearance requirements.

This role focuses on designing and stitching together security sensor platforms (EDR/XDR/NDR), kernel integrity monitoring, threat detection, and secure network segmentation with NSX-T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 20+ years in cloud operations/security or HS plus 25 years of experience.
• Recent AWS cloud experience in national security (IC) environments required.
• Active Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph preferred for access.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate and manage security sensor platforms (EDR/XDR/NDR).
• Write detection endpoint and network signatures and develop dashboards in SIEMs.
• Lead SOC analysts to monitor threats and develop reports.
• Implement security validation platforms and kernel integrity monitoring on endpoints.
• Develop data pipelines and microsegmentation rules (NSX-T) for secure enterprise communications.

Job description

AEITS, a GTSC company, seeking a SeniorAWS Cloud Systems Security Engineer.

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

All work is on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote position.

Mission: Management, sustainment and security of NSANet AWS infrastructure.

Clearance: Active Top Secret SCI with appropriate polygraph.

Certifications: None required.

Cloud Systems Security Engineer responsible for:

• Design, implement, integrate and manage multiple security sensor platforms: EDR, XDR, NDR.


• Implement and manage kernel integrity monitoring software onto all endpoints.


• Write detection endpoint and network signatures.


• Operate as the lead Security Operations Center analyst to monitor for threats to the system.

  • Develop reports on any identified threats.
  
  
  
  


• Implement security validation platforms to test all Security Sensors.


• Administer endpoints running Red Hat and Ubuntu images.


• Develop visibility dashboards and custom data ingest pipelines in the SIEM for each of the security sensor platforms.


• Develop custom pipelines for data from the security sensor platform.


• Develop microsegmentation rules within VMWare NSX-T for secure communications across the enterprise.

Vulnerability Manager responsible for:

• Implement Tenable Security Center into the enterprise.
  
  
  
  • Develop Scan profiles.
  
  
  • Develop Scan Rules.
  
  
  • Schedule Scans of the entire enterprise.
  
  
  • Monitor scans for erroneous data and adjust them accordingly.
  
  
  
  


• Monitor scan results for findings and report them to the infrastructure team for remediation.


• Maintain levels of communication with both the infrastructure team and the ISSOs for maintenance of ATO.

Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree with 20 years experience in cloud operations and security;
  OR,


• HS with 25 years of experience.


• Five (5) most recent years cloud experience must be with AWS in the national security (IC) environment.
