Job summary

Kforce is seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer for a hybrid role in San Diego, CA. The position involves designing and implementing security controls, monitoring threats, and collaborating with infrastructure, applications, and engineering teams to embed security best practices across AWS environments.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in cybersecurity/security engineering, 3+ years of hands-on AWS security, and AI/ML experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of cybersecurity or security engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS security.
• Experience with AI/ML technology required.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• AWS Security certification required; additional certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and enhance cloud security controls across AWS environments.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Conduct security assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
• Partner with infrastructure, application, and engineering teams to integrate security best practices.
• Develop and maintain cloud security standards, policies, and architecture.
• Support security of AI/ML platforms, data pipelines, and deployment environments.
• Lead security-focused projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
