Job summary

Spire Government in Boulder, CO, is hiring a Cloud Infrastructure / Platform Engineer to scale our internal developer platform on AWS. This hands-on role combines platform engineering, cloud operations, observability, and developer experience to drive cost efficiency and reliability.

You'll work with Infra, Security, IT, and software teams to improve how the platform runs and how developers ship software, while impacting AWS spend and platform reliability.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or a similar role.
• Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes, especially EKS.
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable troubleshooting distributed systems and production issues.
• Working knowledge of observability tooling and concepts (metrics, logs, traces, alerts).
• Ability to write code or libraries to support developer workflows.
• Good communication and customer-focused mindset.
• Comfortable collaborating with infrastructure, IT, security and application teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of AWS spend across platform-owned infra and developer workloads.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities without sacrificing reliability or developer experience.
• Support migration of workloads onto the internal developer platform.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve platform issues raised by internal customers.
• Perform maintenance, upgrades, and improvements across platform services and tooling.
• Help build and maintain code libraries, templates, and integrations for instrumenting and observing systems.
• Work with observability and delivery tooling across AWS EKS, VPC, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, OpenSearch, Grafana.
