Job summary

Ampstek is seeking an AWS Cloud, Identity & Databricks Engineer on a contract basis to design and implement the cloud and identity foundation for the PSO platform. The role focuses on AWS environment architecture, IAM, Cognito integration, IaC, observability, and production readiness to support data engineering and analytics workloads.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience.
• Strong experience with IAM, Cognito, authentication, and identity federation.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud environments and production operations.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, secrets management, encryption, monitoring, and logging.
• Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Hands-on Databricks experience on AWS, including workspace configuration, IAM identity integration, S3 access, networking, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support AWS infrastructure across dev, test, and prod.
• Configure and manage IAM roles, policies, service accounts, and least-privilege access.
• Implement Cognito authentication and integration patterns.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, backup, recovery, and operational support.
• Contribute to architecture diagrams, implementation plans, testing, and production readiness.
• Support troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Design and support Databricks on AWS including workspace, VPC, S3 access, IAM roles, secrets, logging, and CI/CD automation.
