Job summary

Computer World Services is seeking a Cloud Engineer to implement high-quality technology solutions for cloud, network, and systems infrastructure, with a focus on AWS. The role supports planning, design, and lifecycle management of cloud resources and cost optimization in a government-facing environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring performance, ensuring availability, configuring network devices, and applying security configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Eligible to qualify for a DHS Entry of Duty background investigation followed by DHS Public Trust Clearance approval.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage tasks to support cloud system performance, scalability, and sustainability.
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
• Configure and install network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
• Communicate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Provide engineering analysis to assist government in program Systems Development Life Cycle gate reviews.
• Provide cost analyses and execute business case analyses to help the customer decide on hardware/software, infrastructure and cloud support.
