Qualifications

  • Active DOD Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly security clearance.
  • 5–7 years of experience in cloud architecture or related role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
  • Significant EKS or other Kubernetes experience.
  • Experience with containerization technologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Git, Terraform).
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certificate and additional AWS certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cloud strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on AWS and EKS.
  • Design scalable, secure, cost-effective cloud architectures and create architecture documentation.
  • Lead implementation and migration of cloud solutions to AWS and EKS with minimal disruption.
  • Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance in AWS/EKS environments.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and performance across AWS/EKS.
  • Mentor and guide teams on cloud best practices; collaborate with Dev and Ops teams.
  • Develop and manage cloud budgeting and cost optimization strategies.
  • Stay current with cloud technologies and participate in relevant training.

The Opportunity:

Join our innovative team as an AWS EKS Cloud Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping our cloud strategy. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage robust cloud solutions that drive our business forward. You’ll be instrumental in leveraging AWS and EKS to create scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments. Your expertise will ensure that our cloud infrastructure aligns with our strategic goals and industry best practices in a complex and classified environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Strategy Development: Develop and maintain the cloud strategy in alignment with business objectives. Evaluate and recommend cloud services, platforms, and technologies, with a focus on AWS and EKS.
  • Architecture Design: Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures leveraging AWS and EKS. Create detailed architecture documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and deployment guides.
  • Implementation and Migration: Lead the implementation of cloud solutions using AWS and EKS. Plan and execute migration of applications and data to the cloud, ensuring seamless integration with EKS container platforms. Ensure minimal disruption during migration processes.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations within AWS and EKS environments. Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization and performance across AWS and EKS. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with development, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and provide technical guidance on AWS and EKS. Mentor and support team members in adopting cloud best practices.
  • Cost Management: Develop and manage cloud budgeting and cost optimization strategies for AWS and EKS. Monitor cloud spending and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Stay Current: Keep up to date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, particularly related to AWS and EKS. Participate in industry events, conferences, and training programs.

Required:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cloud architecture or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS

  • Significant EKS or other Kubernetes experience
  • Experience with containerization technologies
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Terraform).

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$98,500-$206,800
