Job summary

GCyber is hiring an AWS Cloud Engineer to support a government customer. You will design, build, and maintain secure AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab, Docker, and AWS services like EC2, RDS, Lambda, ELB, and S3.

You will automate deployments with IaC, create Lambda functions in Python, and script in Bash/PowerShell to streamline cloud operations and provisioning.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to maintain a CI Poly.
• BA/BS and 8-12 years of experience in Information Technology.
• IAT II Certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
• Experience with Ansible.
• Ability to create Lambda functions using Python.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation.
• Virtualization experience (spinning up and configuring EC2 instances).
• Experience with PowerShell.
• Prior experience with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab, Docker, and AWS services.
• Configure, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure via IaC, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3 deployments.
• Develop and implement automation with Python, including AWS Lambda functions, plus Bash and PowerShell scripting.
• Execute cloud operations including monitoring, incident response, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.
• Develop and maintain technical documents, runbooks, and support Agile, CI/CD, and release management activities.

Job description

GCyber is hiring anAWS Cloud Engineer,to support our government customer. This person should have experience with infrastructure as code environments, automating patches and system configurations, and with designing and engineering commercial cloud environments, architectures, and designs.

As theAWS Cloud Engineer,you will:

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, GitLab, Docker, and Amazon C2S services including EC2, RDS, Lambda, ELB, and S3.
• Configure, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including developing CloudFormation templates and using Ansible to automate deployments, configuration management, and system provisioning; spin up and configure EC2 instances to support scalable, highly available environments.
• Develop and implement automation using Python, including creating and deploying AWS Lambda functions, as well as Bash and PowerShell scripting, to streamline cloud operations, deployments, system administration, and infrastructure management.
• Execute cloud operations including monitoring, incident response, patching, vulnerability remediation, compliance, and security hardening across classified and unclassified environments while leveraging AWS services such as VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, KMS, and Config.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, test procedures, and operational runbooks while supporting Agile development, CI/CD, release management, integration, testing, and production readiness activities.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• An active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, with the ability to maintain a CI Poly
• BA/BS and 8-12 years of experience in Information Technology

• Experience with Ansible
