Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced DevOps Architect in the United States to design and own scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on AWS. This remote role blends strategic leadership with hands-on implementation, automation, and modernization of workflows, including AI tooling integration.

You will guide architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and work closely with clients to deliver reliable, cost-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infra roles, including at least 2 years in leadership.
• Hands-on AWS with core services and cloud cost optimization.
• Proven experience designing production cloud environments.
• Strong systems design for scalable, resilient architectures.
• Scripting in Python and Bash; working knowledge of Java or Node.js.
• Practical use of AI tools in engineering workflows; ability to assess limits.
• Experience leading client/stakeholder engagements and architecture reviews.
• Hands-on IaC and container tech experience, including Kubernetes.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
• Nice to have: AWS Pro/Solutions Architect or DevOps Pro; CKAs/CKADs.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS architectures for new environments and migrations.
• Lead architecture decisions for high availability, DR, multi-account networks, and performance.
• Establish standards for IaC using Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
• Develop production-grade automation with Python and Bash; contribute to services in Java/Node.js.
• Integrate AI assistants into workflows to accelerate infrastructure work and scripting.
• Evaluate AI outputs for security, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Lead client workshops and architecture reviews, translating requirements into practical solutions.
• Implement observability with CloudWatch, Datadog, and related tools; improve incident response and post-mortems.
• Embed security/compliance via least-privilege IAM, encryption, and standards like SOC 2/ISO/PCI.
• Mentor engineers and set high technical standards across the team.
