Qualifications

• AWS D.1.1 certified (will be part of Hiring process)
• Solid understanding of welding equipment and accessories
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding process specs and symbols
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal
• Weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
• Fabricate new or replacement trailer parts
• Assemble component parts with hand/small power tools
• Read tape measure, level and square
• Follow directions and work independently

Responsibilities

• Weld components in all positions: flat, vertical or overhead.
• Monitor fitting, burning and welding to avoid overheating or distortion.
• Examine work pieces for defects and verify conformance to specs.
• Prepare work according to blueprints.
• Layout, position, and secure parts prior to assembly.
• Report non-conforming material to Welding & Fabrication Lead.
• Ensure assigned work is understood before starting.
• Unload, count, and sign receiving documents for steel.
