Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE professional to own AWS infrastructure, manage deployments, and drive automation across the platform. You will lead release management, implement monitoring, and ensure security findings are translated into concrete AWS actions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in application operations, SRE, or platform engineering in a cloud-native environment (AWS preferred)
• Strong understanding of serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge)
• Deep knowledge of modern authentication/authorization — OAuth 2.0, JWT, PKCE, mutual TLS, API key management
• Familiarity with OWASP, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, or SOC2 controls
• Hands-on CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, ArgoCD, or similar). Writing associated configuration files to accommodate build/deployment requirements
• Experience with security tooling — SAST/DAST scanners, dependency auditing, secrets management, WAF configuration
• Proficiency with observability platforms (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, Grafana, or equivalent)
• Strong scripting (Bash, Python, or Node.js) for automation, incident response tooling, and reporting
• Experience managing DLQs, event replay, and ensuring idempotency in distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Own DevOps for AWS and infrastructure code; implement required changes
• Lead release management, own processes, and drive improvements
• Configure and operate serverless AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge)
• Distill security findings and map actions to applicable AWS services
• Configure monitoring and alerting to ensure fast triage during outages
