Job summary

Capgemini in Hanover, NJ seeks a skilled backend/API engineer to design, develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs on AWS, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

You will build APIs with API Gateway and Lambda, implement IAM/OAuth/JWT security, drive CI/CD with GitHub Actions or CodePipeline, and ensure observability with CloudWatch and X-Ray while using Python, Node.js or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs using AWS services.
• Build and deploy APIs using API Gateway, AWS Lambda and microservices architecture.
• Develop backend services using Python, Node.js, Java or similar languages.
• Integrate APIs with AWS services such as DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SNS/SQS, Step Functions.
• Implement authentication authorization using IAM, Cognito, OAuth, JWT.
• Ensure API security throttling and monitoring using API Gateway features.
• Write reusable testable and efficient code with proper documentation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild or GitHub Actions.
• Enable logging tracing and monitoring using CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray.
• Collaborate with front-end DevOps and product teams.
