Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte in Washington, DC seeks a Firmwide Communications Manager, Awards to lead the firm’s awards program, craft compelling submissions, and ensure alignment with the firm’s style, voice, and market positioning.

You will partner with Marketing Communications, Business Development, and Client Experience to identify opportunities, draft submissions, and manage a calendar of award programs, tracking progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least five years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong understanding of journalistic reporting principles and AP Style.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to develop relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic plan for the firm’s awards and recognition program, including objectives, priorities, processes, and outcomes.
• Manage an annual calendar of award and recognition opportunities and track progress using an established CRM system.
• Partner with Marketing Communications, Business Development, and other teams to identify and draft compelling submissions that align with the firm’s brand and priorities.
• Collaborate with Client Experience to identify opportunities that support key client relationships.
• Track, analyze, and report on progress, outcomes, and metrics to support continuous improvement.
• Support the preparation and submission of secondary directory submissions, including Global Review Guides.
