Job summary

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is seeking a full-time Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the RiverView youth foster care home in Duluth, MN. You will support girls aged 6–17, provide compassionate care, and help them live their best lives.

No prior experience or certifications are required; you will receive training and gain a broad range of skills in human services, psychology, and community support. Shifts run 9:00 pm–7:00 am, with every other weekend required.

Qualifications

• Post-offer background check required.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR check if working days or evenings.
• Must be 21 or older to work in youth foster care settings.

Responsibilities

• As a DSP, assist people with disabilities and mental illness to live fulfilled lives.
• Perform day-to-day tasks based on client needs and goals.
• Assist with medication administration, household duties, personal hygiene, and activities.
• Build meaningful relationships and contribute to a person-centered culture.
• Engage in community activities and support transportation needs where required.

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our youth foster care home in Duluth, MN. The RiverView youth program is located in Duluth in the Morgan Park neighborhood near the Lake Superior Zoo. The program supports girls ranging in age from 6 to 17.

Shifts

9:00 pm-7:00 am, Sunday to Wednesday. Every other weekend is required.

Salary

$23.25-$25.75 per hour

This program pays a rate exception of $4.50-$6.50 per hour (included in the wage listed above) on top of RSI's regular wages. Rate exceptions are requested by RSI from the Department of Human Services (DHS) due to more significant staff support needs for one or more person at the program, so we may compensate direct care staff at a higher wage. Please note that rate exceptions are tied to the individual(s) receiving services and will no longer be offered if the individual terminates service with RSI or no longer needs the additional supports.

What You’ll Do As a DSP

As a DSP, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most fulfilling lives. You will assist in a variety of day-to-day tasks based on the needs and goals of the people you are caring for. Duties may include medication administration, household duties, behavioral management, assistance with personal hygiene and medical cares, and community activities such as shopping, concerts, going out to eat, movies, fitness, outdoor recreation, and more. You will develop meaningful relationships and be part of a person-centered culture that values the people we support and team members.

Your schedule will typically include 4–8-hour shifts with hours scheduled during the week and every other weekend. We support people 24/7 and have a variety of shift times available.

For This Position You Will Need
