Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN is hiring an Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Grand Rapids, MN. This full-time position supports up to 4 residents in a group home, with a 10:00pm–6:00am shift and a $2,500 hiring bonus.

Starting pay is $16.00/hour with potential increase to $16.50/hour after six months of consistent employment. You will build meaningful relationships, assist with daily living activities, support community involvement, document care, and participate in training

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required — we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
• Ability to read and write in English to ensure clear communication and quality support.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record, with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.
• Collaborative, mission‑driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion.

Awake Overnight DSP with 2500 Hiring Bonus

Pay:

• $16.00/hour
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase up to $16.50/hour.
• $2,500 Hiring Bonus!*

Shifts:

• This position is for a full-time awake overnight DSP (10:00pm-6:00am), located in Grand Rapids, MN.

What You’ll Do:
