Job summary

Guy Carpenter is seeking a catastrophe risk expert to manage catastrophe modeling projects from start to finish and to contribute to insightful discussions with clients on reinsurance strategy, underwriting support, pricing adequacy, and portfolio management.

• 2 - 12 years of experience with various catastrophe models.
• Robust data management skills, including ability to manipulate, interpret, and extrapolate complex data; familiarity with data storage and manipulation tools such as Data Bricks, MS SQL, Python, R.
• Superior communication and presentation skills, including an ability to translate complex technical analysis and concepts into easily understandable terms for brokers and clients.
• Fundamental knowledge of the reinsurance industry, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage catastrophe modeling projects from beginning to end.
• Contribute to impactful and insightful discussions with clients on their reinsurance strategy, underwriting support, pricing adequacy, and portfolio management; act as the catastrophe risk expert as part of our account teams.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers/clients/reinsurers/colleagues and assist in promptly responding to client queries and concerns.
• Develop knowledge in certain region-based or peril-based areas of catastrophe risk management services through research or experience.
• Take part in or lead internal initiatives, offering ideas and feedback to improve outcomes as well as to help develop Guy Carpenter’s thought leadership and industry expertise.
