Job summary

Core Specialty seeks an AVP Underwriter for Equine Farm in Lexington, KY. The role oversees a profitable book, reviews submissions and endorsements, and grows the team and market share. You will work with brokers to expand targeted business and ensure exceptional service levels.

The position requires 10+ years in equine underwriting, 5+ years of management experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills. Travel approx. 5% is expected. AFIS/CPCU are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 10+ years of equine farm underwriting experience required.
• 5+ years of management experience preferred.
• AFIS, CPCU desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and grow a profitable book of equine farm insurance within underwriting guidelines.
• Review risk submissions, renewals and endorsements; issue decisions.
• Develop and implement division business plans and market strategy.
• Lead and develop underwriting team; maintain broker relationships.
• Ensure timely responses and high-quality service to brokers.
