Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an Associate Vice President for Strategic Planning to guide executive decision-making across our businesses. You will work with senior leaders to shape strategic direction and drive high-impact initiatives that create value for the company and customers.

You will lead cross-functional teams, distill complex issues into actionable strategies, and communicate recommendations to executives, including the Board.

Qualifications

• MBA or equivalent is preferred with proven academic success.
• Significant leadership experience with strategic projects in top-tier consulting or Fortune 100 planning groups.
• Solid understanding of the insurance industry is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to structure complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to identify, evaluate and pursue strategic opportunities.
• Manage strategic projects for executive offices to realize opportunities and define play/win strategies.
• Lead cross-functional project teams to drive business results.
• Advise on corporate or business unit strategic planning processes and three-year plans.
• Translate strategic plans into operational plans and track outcomes.
• Interpret financial and data signals to monitor strategy impact and efficacy.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership and the board.
• Develop external relationships to foster internal innovation and strategic thinking.
