Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an AVP, Risk and Analytics in Specialty Finance to lead risk, analytics, and reinsurance for the business. You will establish and govern models, processes and reporting to support risk-adjusted performance and enterprise capital objectives, partnering with senior stakeholders across the company.

The role drives pricing, capital planning, stress testing and governance, and requires deep knowledge of credit and market risk as applied to complex financial products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a quantitative field; MBA or related master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own risk analytics framework for pricing, capital, limits, stress testing and performance.
• Develop credit/portfolio models with Investment Risk and Underwriting for losses, capital use and risk-adjusted returns.
• Establish model-risk standards for assumptions, back-testing, design and monitoring.
• Define risk appetite and lead governance forums.
• Coordinate with Reinsurance, Legal, Underwriting and Finance on risk transfer and accounting treatments.
• Lead and develop the risk, analytics and reinsurance team, including recruiting and performance management.
