Greenfield Savings Bank in Greenfield, MA is seeking a Retail Sales & Development Officer to drive deposits, achieve retail sales goals, and enhance the customer experience in partnership with branch leadership.

You will train and coach staff, lead by example, and report to the VP of Retail as a key number two, shaping a solutions-based, customer-centric sales culture across locations while balancing risk and regulatory requirements.

• 4–5 years of management experience in retail banking or similar environment.
• 4–5 years of sales experience with a proven track record.
• 2–3 years of financial services experience.
• 2–3 years of training experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Accountable for performance targets including retail deposit growth and net DDA growth.
• Strategize with Retail Leadership on best practices to drive sales.
• Direct reports may include staff with sales and training responsibilities.
• Create and implement engaging ways to drive sales (contests, promotions).
• Partner with branch leadership to provide business development support and training.
• Manage all Retail customer experience (CX) across locations.
• Train, mentor, and coach staff to deliver solutions-focused service while balancing risk and regulations.
• Design and continuously improve a consultative sales training program for Retail annually.
• Conduct observations and coaching to employees and managers.
• Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• All other duties as assigned by VP, Retail.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $125,000.00 Annually

Summary:

The Retail Sales & Development Officer, in conjunction with branch leadership, is responsible for leading the effort to grow deposits, achieve retail sales goals, and enhance the overall customer experience. This individual will work with Retail Leadership on training, mentoring, and coaching at all levels to foster a solutions-based, customer-centric sales culture. The Retail Sales & Development Officer will be accountable for the achievement of all Retail sales goals and will function as a number two to the VP of Retail.

This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Collaborate with VP, Retail and branch leadership to set and review sales goals
• Reviews goals monthly with VP, Retail and branch leadership
• Accountable to specific performance targets, including retail deposit growth, branch participation with the retail scorecard, net DDA growth, and other overall metrics as assigned
• Strategizes with Retail Leadership on best practices and methods to drive sales in the department with managers having a dotted line to the Retail Sales Development Officer with regards to branch sales goals
• Direct reports may be assigned and may include retail business development staff with sales and training responsibilities
• Creates and implements engaging and unique ways to drive sales: including contests, promotions, and other activities.
• Strategizes with business partners to drive referrals
• Partners with branch leadership in providing business development support by way of training, leading by example, and setting reasonable expectations
• Manages all Retail CX ensuring customers have consistently unparalleled experience at all locations
• Trains, mentors, and coaches' staff to ensure customers receive a level of service that is unparalleled and solutions focused while balancing risk and the regulatory requirements of the bank
• Will work with Retail staff and provide training, guidance, and feedback to aid in the achievement of goals
• Will partner with Branch Managers on holding staff accountable for results-driven behaviors in the department
• Will design, implement, and continuously improve a solutions-based consultative sales training program for Retail annually
• Will conduct periodic observations of customer service staff and provide meaningful coaching to employees and managers
• Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values a commitment to quality
• All other duties as assigned by VP, Retail

Requirements:

• 4-5 years of Management experience – preferably in the Retail Banking space
• 4-5 years of experience in a sales environment with a solid track record
• 2-3 years of financial services experience
• 2-3 years of training experience
• Proven track record of implementing successful new programs
• Great interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
• Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred
• Able to travel freely, without restriction, in Franklin & Hampshire counties (about 50% local travel)
