Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

This client is a publicly traded P&C insurance/reinsurance carrier with global operations and a balanced portfolio of direct and indirect business. There are several top line and internal initiatives that are driving growth and internal business alignment. Due to growth, there is a need to hire a Pricing Actuary at the AVP level for their commercial casualty lines.

Base comp is open to $175k on the fixed plus a bonus. The role will report directly to the Head of US Casualty Pricing. The role is hybrid, one day a week in the NYC office.

Responsibilities

• Price a wide variety of reinsurance transactions with available pricing models or with bespoke models.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of actuarial pricing tools used by the team.
• Provide an actuarial perspective on the expected profitability of new program opportunities.
• Evaluate pricing algorithms and potential gaps in existing programs.
• Assist underwriters with assessing proposed transactions by providing both a quantitative and qualitative view of the risk.
• Participate and contribute to broker and client meetings as well as underwriting audits as required.
• Peer review pricing analyses performed by other members of the team.
• Participate in strategic assessment and due diligence of new program opportunities.
• Monitor the loss emergence and go-forward profitability of existing programs.
